Cybersecurity is no longer only a matter of national security! The European Union must raise the level of cybersecurity, by upscaling capacities and capabilities, based on regulation but also on industry at the scale of the Single Market.
The French approach insists on the need for the EU to adopt an ambitious industrial digital strategy, supported by public and private actors, so as to reinforce security and trust within the Digital Single Market both build EU citizens’ confidence in the digital market, and comply with European values.
During the cyber security conference of Vienna, Guillaume Poupard, Director General of ANSSI, delivered a keynote speech in which he insisted on the need for the EU to adopt an industrial strategy to strengthen its digital autonomy and address Cybersecurity issues.
Mr. Poupard also participated in a questions & answers session, along with Ms Despina Spanou, Director for Digital Society, Trust and Cybersecurity at the European Commission and Mr. Arne Schönbohm, President of the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI).
